The first fitting
Half an hour together, free. I listen to you, see how you hold the violin, and you tell me what you would like to play.

Atelier Musicale
Tailor-made music

Every student arrives with a different story: a little girl who has just seen her first violin, a boy preparing for an audition, an adult who has always wanted to play.
That's why I have no single method. I listen, take the measurements and tailor the path to the person in front of me: the repertoire, the pace, the goals.
I'm a violinist and a musicologist. In my lessons technique goes hand in hand with the story of the pieces: knowing why Bach wrote the Chaconne helps you play it too.
I teach in my studio at home, one student at a time. Between lessons, practice and sheet music wait for you in the students’ area.
The first lesson is a trial: we get to know each other, no strings attached.
Aleksandra Gerlach
Violinist and musicologist

One lesson at a time, one student at a time. The time is all yours.
Like a suit at the tailor’s, the path is cut to fit you: a fitting, the measurements, the pattern, then many small adjustments, lesson after lesson.
Half an hour together, free. I listen to you, see how you hold the violin, and you tell me what you would like to play.

Goals, time available, musical taste. And the size of the violin, from 1/16 to 4/4.

I draw your path: pieces, technique, listening. It is in the students’ area and changes with you.

The first weeks set the shape: posture, bow, intonation. At home you practise with the tasks on your phone.

Every month we see how it sits: where it pinches, where it needs more room. The path adjusts to you.

A recital in the living room, an exam, an audition: your music, ready to wear.

The trial lesson is free. The rest is paid per lesson or per month.

Programme and number of lessons to agree.
Listening sessions and music history.
Three choices, as at the tailor’s: who, how long, how often.
How young can you start?
From five. With the youngest, lessons last thirty minutes and go through play and listening. For adults there is no limit: you start whenever you like.
Do I need a violin already?
No. At the trial I use one of mine and we choose the right size together: violins come in sizes, from 1/16 to 4/4. Then I'll tell you where to rent or buy one.
Where are the lessons?
In my studio, at home. I'll send you the full address when we confirm the trial.
What language do you teach in?
Italian, English and Polish. The students' area is in all three too.
What if I miss a lesson?
Tell me at least 24 hours before and we make it up the same week or the next. You can ask to move it straight from the app.
How does practice at home work?
After each lesson the students' area shows what to practise, for how long a day, and the sheet music as PDF. You tick what you did and I see it before the next lesson.

Thirty minutes, free. I’ll call you back to set the day.
